Official rules
Pet of the Game, 2026-27 season. Presented by Uptown Animal Hospital.
1. Organizer and Presenting Partner
Pet of the Game (the “Program”) is run by the Salmon Arm Silverbacks Hockey Club (the “Club”) and presented by Uptown Animal Hospital (the “Presenting Partner”).
2. Eligibility
You may enter if you are a legal resident of British Columbia and at least 19 years old at the time of entry. The pet you nominate must be your own pet or a pet in your legal care.
Not eligible: employees, directors, officers, contractors and volunteers of the Club or of Uptown Animal Hospital, and members of their immediate family or household.
3. Entry period
Nominations are open for the Club’s 2026-27 regular-season home schedule at Rogers Rink, while the nomination form is live. A nomination stays in the pool for the whole season unless you withdraw it (section 9) or it is selected.
4. How to enter
Go to fanzone.sasilverbacks.com/pet-of-the-game/nominate and complete the nomination form: a photo of your pet, your pet’s name and type (and optionally breed and age), your name and email, and optionally your phone number and town.
- No purchase is necessary.
- One entry per pet. You may nominate more than one pet, each on its own form. Duplicate entries for the same pet are removed.
- The photo must be of the pet you are nominating, taken by you or with the photographer’s permission, and must not include other identifiable people without their consent. Photos that are unsafe, offensive, promotional for another business, or that we cannot display on a family videoboard will be declined.
- Entries submitted by script, bot or other automated means are void.
5. Selection
Silverbacks staff select one Pet of the Game for each home game from the eligible nominations, at the Club’s sole discretion. Selection is based on suitability for the videoboard and the Program — photo clarity, fit, and variety across the season. It is not a random draw. Decisions are final.
Selected entrants are notified by email (and by phone if provided) before the game. The Club may feature a selected pet whether or not the entrant can be reached; the prize is subject to the entrant claiming it under section 6. A pet is featured at most once per season.
6. Prize
Each featured pet’s entrant receives one prize provided by Uptown Animal Hospital: [PRIZE DESCRIPTION], approximate retail value $[VALUE].
The prize must be collected in person at Uptown Animal Hospital, [ADDRESS], within 30 days of the game, on presentation of the notification email and government photo ID. Prizes are not transferable and have no cash value. Uptown Animal Hospital may substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
7. Publicity and licence
By entering, you grant the Club and Uptown Animal Hospital a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual licence to use the photo you submit, your pet’s name, your first name and your town (if provided) in connection with the Program — including on the Rogers Rink videoboard, in public-address announcements, on the Club’s and Uptown Animal Hospital’s websites and social media accounts, and in promotional material for the Program — without further notice or compensation. You confirm you have the right to grant this licence.
8. Privacy
The Club collects your contact information to run the Program: to review your nomination, notify you if your pet is selected, and arrange the prize. We will only send you Silverbacks news and offers if you tick the opt-in box, and you can unsubscribe at any time. We do not share your contact information with Uptown Animal Hospital or anyone else, except as needed to arrange prize pickup for a featured pet.
Nominations that are not selected are deleted 90 days after the season ends. Featured pets’ photos and first names remain published under section 7. Personal information is handled in accordance with British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act. To access, correct or withdraw your information, contact marketing@sasilverbacks.com.
9. Withdrawing
You may withdraw a nomination at any time before it is selected by emailing marketing@sasilverbacks.com; we will delete the entry and photo.
10. General
The Club may disqualify any entry that does not comply with these rules, and may modify, suspend or end the Program at any time (featured pets already announced are not affected). The Club is not responsible for entries that are lost, late, incomplete or fail to upload for technical reasons. The Program is governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable in it.
The Program is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Meta Platforms, Inc. or any other social media platform.
